This summer, our IEEE student branch is co-organizing the Cyber Security Summer School 2024. The event is a joint effort with KČN at FIT CTU and NETACAD FEL CTU, and is fully supported by the rectorate of CTU.
The goal is to give students interested in cybersecurity a chance to learn more and meet experts from both academia and industry. The program includes lectures and practical sessions, led by teachers from CTU and professionals from companies.
Day 1 focused on topics like network monitoring, encrypted traffic classification, and types of networks. The day ended with a fun city game in Prague and an informal evening gathering.
Day 2 included a lecture on quantum key distribution, followed by a visit to NAKIT, a company focused on national IT coordination and cybersecurity.
Day 3 introduced participants to a virtual cybersecurity lab and gave them the chance to try out a small CTF (Capture the Flag) cybersecurity challenge.
The summer school supports talented students and helps them connect with others who share the same interests in cybersecurity.
