The branch of the Nuclear and Plasma Sciences (NPS) society in the Czechoslovak Section of IEEE was established on March 17, 2009. The founding chairman was appointed Ing. Stanislav Pospíšil, DrSc. from the Institute of Technical and Experimental Physics (ÚTEF) at the Czech Technical University (ČVUT) in Prague. The founding secretary of the branch was appointed Doc. Ing. Carlos Granja, PhD., from ÚTEF ČVUT.
